New development should not occur at the expense of existing ratepayers. Service extensions required for new subdivisions or developments will be constructed at the expense of the developer in accordance with engineering review, materials specifications, construction standards, inspection requirements, and approval processes established by Sunrise.

Material specifications assure consistency within the system, reduce operational costs to the system by limiting types of materials required in inventory. In addition, system extensions must be integrated into the overall water system to assure that current and future customers all receive the high levels of service that Sunrise is committed to delivering.

In situations where an individual or business has been required to install a line extension at their own expense they will be eligible for a pro-rata reimbursement collected from individuals who connect to that line for a period of ten years.

Agency Paid Upsizing

When growth projections dictate a larger capacity system extension is needed than the developer would be required to install, Sunrise will pay the difference in cost between the developer line and the larger line required for system demands and long range planning.
